Bouldering in Camp 4

Today we again made the trek into the Valley.  It is about an hour ride over two mountain passes on the windiest roads I have ever driven.  Mom, I don’t think you will ever make it to Yosemite Valley, when Laura drove yesterday I was starting to feel woozy and I never get motion sickness.  Luckily, the kids are usually asleep so we haven’t had any emergency barf stops.  Not only do roads twist up and down the mountains, but every turn is banked – its like a 40 mile race track.    Unfortunately, there are no guardrails and sometimes no shoulders, so if you miss an apex you could be going for a quick ride to the valley floor.

Today we finally had decent weather.  The sun was out and the temperature was in the mid 60’s, so we were able to spend the day at the iconic Camp 4.  As you will see from the following pictures, R probably did most of the climbing on “kid boulders”.
